Art Jones has been servicing pianos since 1980. After a two year apprenticeship with a gifted blind tuner, Mr. Carmine D'Amore, he had the rare opportunity to join the Steinway and Sons Concert Department in Philadelphia as Assistant Concert Technician. There he honed his basic training to a high level of concert caliber skill, putting it to use at The Academy of Music, The Mann Music Center, and various other Philadelphia area concert venues for such artists as Peter Nero, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Peter Serkin, George Winston, and Marc Andre Hamelin.
Art went on to start his own private practice, and steadily built up a large clientele of individual piano owners and institutions. In 1986 he was awarded a contract to care for the pianos at
Settlement Music School in Philadelphia, and in 1987 accepted a Staff position at the school. He cared for their inventory of approximately 165 pianos until his retirement from the school in
2019.
With over 30 years experience not only at the concert level but also servicing thousands of pianos in homes in South Jersey, Art Jones has the experience and expertise to provide the finest professional, competitively priced care for your piano.
